Who supplies your membership

BF1 Reads is operated by Wayne Malyon trading as Built From One. Our postal address is 20 Shearers Drive, Spalding, PE11 3ZJ, United Kingdom.

For sales, membership, payment, cancellation, refund or sales complaint questions, email sales@builtfromone.com. For account, reading or app problems, email support@builtfromone.com. For privacy requests, email hello@builtfromone.com.

Your reading membership

Membership provides personal access to the currently published BF1 Reads written novel collection in your browser while your membership is paid and active. Free opening chapters are available without a subscription.

This is access to digital novels, not ownership of an ebook. No physical book, downloadable ebook, audiobook or guaranteed offline access is included. You need an internet connection and a current browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Email verification and sign-in protect paid chapters.

Membership is available to UK and US residents aged 18 or over. We ask for separate age and residence declarations and check the billing country returned by Stripe. These are eligibility signals, not independent proof. Contact support for review of an incorrect restriction; we do not retain a copy of your billing address.

Built From One retains the copyright in its novels and artwork. Read for your own personal use. Do not share account access, redistribute protected books, scrape paid chapters or bypass access controls. Uses permitted by applicable law remain permitted.

Price and monthly renewal

UK membership is £6.99 GBP per month. US membership is $8.99 USD per month. Your registered country determines the price and currency before payment. The total UK price is £6.99 in GBP each month. The first payment is due when you complete Stripe Checkout; the membership renews automatically each month until you cancel future renewals.

There is no fixed multi-month minimum, setup charge or deposit. Ebook and album downloads are separate purchases and are not included in membership. UK ebooks and albums cost £2.99 GBP each; US ebooks and albums cost $3.99 USD each. Stripe displays the available payment methods and the final payment button. Paid access starts only after your payment, eligibility and contract confirmation are verified.

Your accepted price and Terms are saved with your purchase. We will give reasonable advance notice of a proposed material price or membership change, explain when it would take effect and let you stop future renewal before it applies. We will not retrospectively rewrite your purchase record or reduce statutory rights.

Stop future renewals

Open My Account, select Manage subscription and complete cancellation in the Stripe portal before your next payment is processed. There is no cancellation fee. Your paid reading normally continues until the end of the confirmed paid period; saved books and reading positions stay in your account.

You can also email sales@builtfromone.com with a clear cancellation instruction. Contact us promptly if the portal is unavailable. Signing out or closing the browser does not cancel a subscription. A cancellation notice under statutory rights is separate from stopping the next renewal.

UK purchases: immediate reading and cancellation rights

The ordinary initial cancellation period for a distance digital-content contract is 14 days after the day the contract is made, subject to applicable exceptions and extensions where required information is missing.

To start paid digital reading during that period, we ask separately for your express consent to begin early supply and your acknowledgement that the ordinary initial cancellation right can be lost once paid digital content actually begins to be supplied after those statements. Agreeing to monthly payments, paying or receiving confirmation alone does not establish that supply has started.

If you do not give both separate statements, no paid membership is started; you can continue with the free chapters without being charged. Early-supply permission does not remove remedies for faulty, missing or misdescribed content. There is no blanket no-refunds rule.

Cancellation notices and refunds

To exercise an applicable statutory cancellation right, send a clear statement to sales@builtfromone.com or our postal address. No reason, special form or account login is required. Optional wording: “I give notice that I cancel my BF1 Reads membership.” Include your account email and order reference if available so we can locate the purchase.

We record the time your notice is received and acknowledge it. Acknowledgement does not prejudge your rights. We assess the purchase, recorded statements and actual supply under applicable law; we do not refuse a notice solely because an automated deadline has passed.

Where you are entitled to reimbursement following statutory cancellation, we refund without undue delay and within the applicable legal time limit, normally within 14 days after being informed. We use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise and do not charge a refund fee. Faulty-content and other statutory remedies remain available.

Availability, complaints and legal rights

Digital content must meet the standards required by UK consumer law, including description, satisfactory quality and fitness for purpose where applicable. We will investigate faults and provide the remedy required by law, which may include correction, a price reduction or refund.

The collection may change and reading may be interrupted by maintenance or faults. We will treat material loss of paid access fairly and preserve applicable remedies. We may restrict accounts for security or serious misuse, with support review; restrictions do not automatically remove rights to refunds or complaints.

Send complaints to sales@builtfromone.com. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Mandatory protections and any court jurisdiction available to you where you live are preserved. English law applies subject to those protections.

Delete your account

Account deletion requires your password and a separate permanent-deletion acknowledgement. It ends attached memberships and reading access immediately and erases active login and reading data. To keep reading until your paid period ends, cancel renewal instead.

Deletion does not decide refund rights or erase Stripe payment history. A restricted, minimal purchase and cancellation record may be retained as explained in the Privacy notice. Contact support if deletion or cancellation is interrupted.

US membership: cancellation and refunds

The UK initial cancellation information above applies to UK purchases. US customers have the following cancellation and refund information; mandatory rights where you live remain protected.

Cancel online

Open My Account, choose Manage subscription, then Cancel subscription in the Stripe portal. No phone call or retention offer is required. Cancel before the next renewal to stop that charge. Access normally continues to the end of the current paid period. Check the confirmation and end date. If the portal fails, email the seller for help; do not delete your account merely to stop renewal. An annual reminder will state the price, renewal terms and cancellation route for an active US membership.

Immediate access, cancellation and refunds

Request immediate reading separately from agreeing to recurring billing. This request does not waive mandatory rights. US customers are not asked to waive a UK 14-day cancellation right. UK purchases have separate UK cancellation information. Mandatory protections available where you reside remain.

You can request a refund for content that is not supplied, is faulty or is materially misdescribed. Contact the seller with your order reference; do not send card details. A request to stop future renewals does not itself promise a refund of an already supplied period. Change-of-mind refunds after immediate supply are assessed individually. Any rights under applicable US state or UK law take priority over these terms; there is no blanket waiver or no-refunds rule.

English-language terms. The law of England and Wales applies subject to mandatory protections and court rights available where you reside; these terms do not compel US customers to give up those rights.

Separate downloadable EPUB purchases have their own book-specific terms, available to read and save on the book's purchase form. An ebook purchase does not start a subscription.
