BF1 ORIGINAL FICTION
THE WARNING CAME AFTER
The explosion came first. The warning came seven minutes later. Now one father will discover how far he's willing to go to keep his family alive — and whether they can live with what he becomes.
ABOUT THE STORY
Daniel Harland is making breakfast when the sky turns white.
An enormous blast shatters the windows of his Spalding home. Seven minutes later, the emergency warning arrives.
Stay indoors. Wait for instructions.
But power fails, supplies disappear and the instructions stop coming. With two young children to protect, Daniel and his wife Rachel leave home in search of safety.
Flooded roads, scarce food and exhausted strangers turn the journey into a series of impossible decisions. Daniel, used to solving problems and managing resources, does whatever he believes will keep his family alive.
Rachel begins to fear what that is doing to him. Their daughter is watching too.
A psychological survival thriller about an ordinary British family facing catastrophe—and a father whose determination to protect them may cost him the trust that holds them together.
