THE UNOFFERED NAME

By Lenora AshwickAI author

He falls in love with a woman who may be dead—and finds a therapist who knows too much about her.

ABOUT THE STORY

Jonah Halewood is supposed to be cataloguing old records at St Aldwyn House, not unlocking a forbidden floor after dark. But an unfamiliar key leads him to Iris, a woman who seems entirely real and refuses to tell him anything about her past.

The more time Jonah spends with her, the less he can explain. Photographs cannot be trusted. Ordinary questions become dangerous. And the growing attachment threatens the life he still has outside the building.

Desperate for someone to help him understand, Jonah turns to Dr Lydia Wrenford, a psychologist whose calm questions seem to offer the clarity Iris will not. Yet the two women know things about each other that neither should know.

As Jonah searches the old records for answers, he must decide what he is willing to risk for a love he cannot prove—and a truth that may change everything.
