ABOUT THE STORY
Thirty-eight people are running out of food in a frozen prehistoric wilderness. A wounded bison could keep them alive.
Experienced hunter Sarruk insists on following it beyond the boundary his leader has forbidden them to cross.
Six hunters go after the animal. Only Sarruk survives.
Grievously injured and alone, he must escape the cave lion that claimed the bison, then find his way back across a landscape of wolves, treacherous ice and gathering storms. His right arm is shattered. Every fire, every meal and every mile demands skills he must learn again.
But his people are moving towards hunting grounds crowded with predators. Getting home means more than saving himself.
A prehistoric survival adventure about hunger, responsibility and a hunter struggling to reach the people who depend on him before they repeat his mistake.
