When a senior scientist is found murdered inside the Lysander lunar settlement, former Earth detective Seraphina Vardon faces a crime no one there is equipped to investigate. The victim was tracing a discrepancy in the systems that keep nearly five thousand people alive. Then another death raises an even more frightening possibility: someone understands those systems well enough to turn them against the people who depend on them.
Every lead points towards engineers, administrators and secrets buried beneath the colony’s official records. With trust eroding and another life potentially at risk, Seraphina must distinguish evidence from suspicion before fear gives the wrong person a convenient explanation.
