Coming Saturday, 24 October 2026

A century-old factory fire and a present-day safety warning collide as one engineer uncovers a dangerous pattern of silence.

Barcelona, 2023. Heritage engineer Owen Alderton arrives at Colònia Orriols to survey a restored textile colony. Then the dreams begin: rain on stone, a missing exterior stair, a child’s wrist in his hand, smoke.

A century earlier, mechanic Mateu Anglada died rescuing seven-year-old Roser Balcells from a fire in Building C. The official record called it accidental. But the archive holds warnings, gaps, and a complaint Mateu never managed to send.

Now Building C is due to host a school group. A signed fire-safety warning has been softened. The specialist review is Tuesday. The children arrive Saturday. And the riverside gate is to stay secured.

With evidence mounting and time running short, Owen must decide how much proof is enough before delay becomes its own decision.
