CLOSER

In 2154, competitors travel into history’s deadliest disasters while millions watch them risk their lives.

The spectacle is called CLOSER. The rules are simple: hold the audience’s attention and return before time runs out.

Then a competitor comes back three seconds late.

Senior Cleaner Mireya Calderon finds evidence that contradicts the official record. As she investigates, the delay begins to resemble incidents involving competitors who never returned.

Now Rafe Severin, the programme’s biggest star, is preparing for its most dangerous broadcast. Mireya once nearly died beside him. She fears he could be next.

With the audience waiting, she must uncover what is happening behind the scenes of an entertainment business that profits from the possibility of death.

A science-fiction conspiracy thriller about manufactured danger, obsession and what happens when keeping people watching matters more than bringing someone home.
