BF1 ORIGINAL FICTION
ANOTHER LIFE
A chef is confronted by a mysterious woman who remembers him as her husband in a previous life—and accuses him of murder.
ABOUT THE STORY
Every Thursday, Eleanor Halbrook appears at the same table in Daniel Aldridge's Chiswick restaurant. She knows things no stranger should know—and insists she was married to him in another life.
Daniel is a chef, a widower and a father. He has no memory of Eleanor, much less of Thomas Halbrook, the man she claims he once was. But the historical records are real. So are the impossible memories beginning to intrude on his carefully ordered life.
Eleanor believes Thomas murdered her. Determined to uncover the truth, Daniel follows a trail of forgotten records, disturbing recollections and secrets that have survived for decades.
As his investigation threatens the family and career he has built, Daniel faces an extraordinary question: if another man's memories belong to him, does that man's guilt belong to him too?
A haunting psychological mystery about identity, responsibility and the lives we choose to lead.
